I am a 54 year old survivor of a battered childhood, where my father attempted to beat me straight. I'm sure that my experience is not unique. I'm at the end of my third marriage for obvious reasons; I don't belong in a heterosexual relationship. I feel luck in the fact that I have a supporting extended family helping me as I go through this transition.

My closest and dearest friend is in her own words, "a bull dyke lesbian", that has a nurturing side that exceeds my greatest expectations. She seemed to know just the right moment when I needed her the most, and there she was, ready and welling to help.

So far, it's been fairly easy for me to come out; I know people that have had a bad time with this journey, and that really made it hard for me in the beginning.

I know exactly how it's hard to find gays in small towns :X

Your town has 100 000 inhabitants and only one gay bar.

Mine has 110 000 inhabitants, no gay bar.

But you live in North America!
Programs talk about it; adult cartoons (Simpsons and Family Guy, as two examples) too.

I live in a small country of São Paulo, Brazil. What's bad isn't your head BAD THINGS about gays, it's that you DON'T HEAR about them.

It's hard to find one.

"What you wanted? You live in Brazil, in a jungle!"

Hahaha, that's a wrong view of brazil, hehehe
Actually, even my city being very small, on my class (which has 25 students), 2 have a PS3, 1 have a Wii, (oh, no one haves a 360, but i'd like \o/), 5 iPod Touch's, everybody have pcs (at least one I know has a Mac), and at least half of them have "paid tv" (fox, sony, tnt, cartoon network, nick, etc)...

"Soooooooooo....."

It's not much, hehe, just to show here isn't exactly a big farm.

I'm 16 and on my school there are just 2 gays (well... I know there are more, but i'm talking about the ones that everybody knows and that are "flamboyants").

Thanks for reading this text full of gramatical mistakes, hehe
