I work for a major data analytics firm as a systems integration consultant. For the vast majority of you who have no idea what that means, I assist companies in creating their systems to analyze their data allowing them to make better business decisions. For the most of you still confused as can be, think about your grocery store card. Your Marsh Rewards Card, or your Kroger Plus Card, or whatever other card you may have. Why do these stores have these cards? They want to be able to analyze your buying habits. They want to be able to better spend their advertising dollars, try to determine if the store should be rearranged, be able to ask you at the register you didn’t buy any diapers today, do you need any? We help set up these type of systems (not the two I mentioned here, but similar ones).
I enjoy running, hiking, golf, tennis, volleyball, and of course other guys. I am not currently involved in any clubs or leagues in these sports, but hope to start playing them more frequently over the next year.
I am a gay Eagle Scout, and even though they rebuff me, I still feel scouting had a big influence in my life. It really has made me who I am today, and honestly had helped me decide against committing suicide when I was younger. Due to this, I will occasionally post an op ed on the scouts policy towards homosexuals and why I think it should change.
I am currently in the process of coming out, and if asked I will tell anyone. However, I am still unwilling to go up to most people I know and say “hey I am gay” unless they ask me. Because of this, outside of my readers there are only about 3 people who know I am gay, although I really do not try to hide it.
If you would like to get in contact with me directly, leave a comment indicating so. I will get back to you. Also, I moderate all comments, so if you submit a comment wanting to talk to me, and note in the comment you do not want anyone else to be able to see it, I will reply to your comment but not approve it for posting. This is my way to try to avoid posting my email address and have it harvested by spam robots.
You can read more about me in my posts of my life story here.

Hi Chris,
I came across your blog while searching for info on”Gay life in USA”. I must say you have excellent expressions and articulations which are very well delivered in your blog.
I am a 26 y/o student from India aspiring for PhD from United States. One of the main reasons why I am looking fwd to pursuing a PhD in US is a perceived notion that in US, I can lead a stable gay life, unlike India. Would like to know how the US society sees same sex relationships, how easily people are able to come out of their shells and accept a gay life (instead of marriage) and how committed they are.
Warm regards
Avijit

Hey Chris,
Hi am from Mauritius and recently came out to my parents and few friends. Here it is still a taboo to be gay, it has been a long way till i reached to that stage. Today am 31, all these years i have been living in fear what my parents, friends and society will say about me. It is very important that you accept yourself first of all to be enable others to accept you. I have got issues with my parents initially and i will not say that things have changed but i live my life the way i want. Anyways i was just reading your blog and i thought of sharing my views.

Hey Chris,
I really like your point about the boy scouts. I have a few queer friends whom grew up in the boy scouts one of which, because he had to keep being gay a secret, quit the organization that he loved. Contact me I would love to hear more about your coming out, aren’t they the best stories
(you can post or not post this whatever you prefer)
