This blog is frustrating me right now as the same day I discovered the blog, is the day they announced they were closing the blog. Despite this, the blog still has many posts worth reading, and I suggest skimming the archives before this blog disappears forever.

The Bilerico Project is a political commentary, gay entertainment, and every day gay life blog. When the blog started it focused on LGBTQ issues in Indiana, but the readership expanded nationally and now the project covers mostly national LGBTQ news. However, it still covers the occasional Indiana specific story. This is worthwhile reading for anyone in the US or anyone wanting to know about the LGBTQ situation in the US.

I find Trick Wire to be very enjoyable reading that draws you in and keeps you coming back for more. I can’t really give a theme to this blog outside of gay as it is relatively new (only 14 posts). Right now it appears to be Skye’s random thoughts.

I started the blog on July 1st intending it to be at most a place for me to interact with the local online gay community. I have since asked myself several times what direction I want to go with it. I think I’m only sure of what it’s not. It’s not an aggregator or daily journal or porn portal. I just choose a topic that I think I might currently be in a state of mind to write a few paragraphs about and see what I can do with it. I write down topics as I think of them and then every couple days choose one from the list. I suggest checking back every 3 or 4 days for updates.

I could see my posts being suitable for placement on the inside of a restroom stall door. They give you something to do during and in between other major life activities, but don’t require any additional exertion.

I really enjoy this blog mostly because it is another blog written by someone near my age. Even if the writer did go to the University of Wisconsin the last school Purdue played before our football program went to hell. There is one particular play in a game that the 68,000 people at that game will remember forever and was also the turning point of Purdue football..

Anyway, enough of discussing sports woes. a ridiculous raw youth is a well written blog that given the length of his posts, I somehow do not find rambling.

Although, there are only three currently listed, I read about 20-25 blogs and am constantly adding more. I know that seems like a ton of blogs and a lot of time, but with the right tools it is not difficult. Every blog I read has an RSS feed. RSS is a mechanism for distributing your content so people can read your blog using an aggregator rather than having to visit your site every day to check for an update. This eliminates a lot of the time I spend reading blogs every day by centralizing everything. Although there are many pieces of software and resources that do this, I personally use Google Reader. As the subtitle indicates, this blog is about a gay prostitute. Well former gay prostitute. It is well written, and an interesting read. As I noted he has left the prostitution business and is going back to school, but his archives are still interesting and his occasional posts now are still worthwhile.

This blog portrays itself as being the upper class of blogs. This leaves you with the initial impression that the blogger is arrogant and not worth reading. However, once you read several of his posts you will find a smart witty writer well worth reading that in no way comes across as arrogant. I do not feel a particular affiliation with this blog or feel the blogger and I have a lot in common. It is just simple enjoyable reading that keeps me coming back for more.

I really can’t put my finger on why, but I have found I really enjoy reading this blog. It probably has to do with the writer being a runner and discussing running on his blog, always a topic I enjoy. And then it probably also has to do with this writer being the first blogger I have seen, truly able to incorporate sarcasm into his work without it seeming initially offensive. Of course, my gut feeling that I know his boyfriend, even though I cannot place him outside of being able to say we are both originally from the same town (data gleaned from the blog), doesn’t hurt my interest in the blog.
